How to Open a New Exness Account in UAE for 2026: Step-by-Step Guide

How UAE residents in every emirate can open an Exness account in 2026: eligibility, the CMA licence question, proof of address by emirate, web and app sign-up routes, choosing an account type, dirham funding and troubleshooting.

Share

To open a new Exness account in UAE in 2026, register on the official Exness website or the Exness Trade app, select the United Arab Emirates as your country of residence, verify your email and mobile number, complete the economic profile, and upload a valid identity document plus a UAE-issued proof of address dated within six months. After approval, which Exness says can take up to 24 hours, you create a trading account (Standard, Standard Cent, Pro, Zero or Raw Spread) and fund it from a payment account in your own name.

The process is the same whether you live in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah or Fujairah. What changes from one person to the next is the paperwork: which electricity provider sends your bill, whether your bank statement shows your full address, and whether your identity document is Emirati, from another Gulf state or from much further away.

This guide is organised as a country-wide reference. It explains the UAE regulatory picture as it stands after the 2026 switch from the SCA to the new Capital Market Authority, sets out the web and mobile sign-up routes side by side, helps you pick an account type based on how you actually trade, and covers funding in dirhams, swap-free considerations, security and the most common reasons applications get stuck.

Ready to begin while you read? You can start a free Exness registration as a UAE resident and come back to each section as you reach it.

Who Regulates Exness in the UAE?

The UAE has three separate financial regulatory zones that matter to traders:

  1. The federal mainland regime, overseen since 1 January 2026 by the Capital Market Authority (CMA). Federal Decree-Law No. 32 of 2025 replaced the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) with the CMA, which is its legal successor. Licences issued by the SCA carry over.
  2. The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA).
  3. Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), regulated by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA).

Exness's official regulation page lists "the Capital Market Authority (CMA) in the UAE" among its regulators, alongside the Seychelles FSA, the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten, the BVI and Mauritius FSCs, Kenya's CMA, the Jordan Securities Commission, South Africa's FSCA, the FSC of Belize, CySEC and the UK FCA. It does not list the DFSA or the FSRA.

Independent sites that searched the federal register in 2026 report that the UAE licensee is Exness MENA Financial Brokers L.L.C, registered in Dubai, licence CP-0001100, authorised as a trading broker of OTC derivatives and currencies in the spot market since 17 July 2024. We were unable to load the register's search results ourselves, so please confirm that entry directly on the CMA website.

Which Exness company will hold your account?

This is the question most guides skip. A brand having a UAE licence does not automatically mean every UAE client is onboarded by that UAE company. At least one 2026 review reported that pages served to UAE visitors named only Exness (SC) Ltd, the Seychelles securities dealer licensed under FSA number SD025. Exness's own regulation page also says its Seychelles, Curaçao, BVI, Belize and Mauritius companies serve "selected jurisdictions outside the EEA".

So, when you register:

  • Open and save the client agreement and any legal documents presented.
  • Find the name of the contracting company.
  • If it is the UAE licensee, check its CMA entry. If it is an offshore entity, understand that the offshore regulator's framework applies to your relationship.
  • If the documents are unclear, ask support in writing which entity holds your account and keep the reply.

Our guide to how another multi-entity broker is treated in the UAE uses the same framework, and is worth reading if you are comparing providers.

If you live in the UAE but are a citizen of another Gulf state

You register based on residence, so a Saudi or Kuwaiti national living in Abu Dhabi registers as a UAE resident with a UAE proof of address. The rules of your home country may still matter to you personally, though, and we cover those markets separately in our pieces on trading regulation in Saudi Arabia and the position in Kuwait.

Documents by Emirate: What UAE Residents Usually Upload

Exness's verification uses two documents: proof of identity (POI) and proof of address (POA). Exness notes that in some regions one document can cover both if it includes identity and residential details, and the PA will tell you if that applies, but plan on two.

Proof of identity

Accepted POI types are an international passport, a national identity card or a driving licence. The document must be government-issued, carry your photo, full name and date of birth, be valid for at least three months from the upload date, and be photographed with all four corners visible (both sides if it has more than one page). It does not need to be issued by the UAE. An Egyptian passport, a Pakistani national ID card or a British driving licence can all qualify, provided the issuing country is not one Exness restricts.

Proof of address

The POA must be issued in the UAE (the same country as your account), show your full name exactly as on your POI, your full address and an issue date within the last six months. Exness's examples include utility bills (electricity, water, gas, internet, landline or mobile phone), recent bank statements, local tax bills and a reference letter from a bank in your country of residence. Identity documents are never accepted as POA. Medical bills, purchase receipts and insurance statements are explicitly rejected.

Where you liveCommon utility bill sourcesOther good options
Abu Dhabi city and Al AinYour local electricity and water distribution company billUAE bank statement showing your address
DubaiDEWA billdu or e& internet / mobile bill

Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, FujairahYour local electricity and water provider's billBank statement or telecom bill
Staff housing / company accommodationBills usually in employer's name (not usable)Bank statement or bank reference letter in your name

Two practical notes. First, many UAE bank statements downloaded from apps show only a P.O. Box, not a residential address. If yours does, request a statement or letter that shows your street address, or use a utility or telecom bill. Second, tenancy contracts (including Ejari registrations in Dubai) do not appear on Exness's published list, so ask support before relying on one.

File requirements

  • Formats: JPG, BMP, PNG or PDF
  • Maximum size: 50 MB per file
  • Photo, scan or photocopy accepted, as long as all edges are visible and the text is sharp
  • No edited images: filters, crops that remove edges, and annotations can lead to rejection

Step-by-Step: Two Ways to Register

You can open your account in a browser or in the Exness Trade mobile app. The information required is identical; choose whichever you find easier for photographing documents. Many people register on a laptop and upload documents from their phone.

Route A: Registering on the website

  1. Go to the official Exness site and select Create an Account.
  2. Select "United Arab Emirates" as your country of residence. Exness states the region cannot be changed later and that regional payment methods depend on it.
  3. Enter your email, or use Sign in with Google if it is offered for your region.
  4. Create a password meeting the on-screen rules: 8 to 15 characters, upper-case and lower-case letters, and numbers. You can only continue once every rule turns green. You may be asked to complete an "I am not a robot" check.
  5. Enter a partner code if you were given one. Leave it blank otherwise.
  6. Confirm you are not a US citizen or resident, then select Continue.
  7. Open the Personal Area from the features menu in the Exness Terminal that loads next.

Route B: Registering in the Exness Trade app

  1. Install the Exness Trade app from the official Apple App Store or Google Play listing. Check the developer name before installing; imitation apps exist.
  2. Choose to register, select the UAE and enter your email and password.
  3. Follow the in-app prompts to confirm your contact details and complete your profile.
  4. Use the phone camera for document uploads, holding it flat above the document in good light.
  5. Consider enabling push-notification security, which requires the Exness Trade app and lets you approve sensitive actions on your phone.

The verification phase (both routes)

  1. Confirm your email with the one-time code Exness sends.
  2. Confirm your phone by SMS or call. Use +971 and omit the leading zero of your mobile number.
  3. Enter personal details exactly as on your documents: full legal name, date of birth, residential address in your emirate.
  4. Complete the economic profile about your income source, profession and trading experience. Exness's troubleshooting guidance says to complete this in full before submitting documents.
  5. Upload POI, choosing the issuing country and document type first.
  6. Upload POA, ideally at the same time.
  7. Wait for the review email. You cannot upload a replacement while a submission is pending.

The account-setup phase

  1. In the PA, go to My Accounts and select Open Account.
  2. Choose an account type, then Real or Demo.
  3. Set the account currency (AED and USD are both available), a nickname, maximum leverage and the platform (MT4 or MT5).
  4. For Pro accounts, choose the execution type.
  5. Set a trading password for MetaTrader and select Create an Account.
  6. Go to Deposit, pick a method shown for your region, and fund the account from your own payment account.

Practical tips for a one-sitting application

  • Download your latest bill as a PDF before you begin rather than photographing a printout.
  • Write down your PA email, your trading account numbers and which password is which. The PA password and the MetaTrader trading password are different.
  • Do the uploads in daylight or under bright, even light to avoid glare on laminated IDs.
  • Open a demo account while you wait for approval so the time is not wasted.

How Exness Verification Tiers Affect UAE Clients

Exness describes verification as a ladder. With contact details and personal information confirmed, you have a low deposit limit across all trading accounts. With a completed economic profile and an accepted POI, the limit rises. With an accepted POA on top, you are fully verified and the only deposit limits are those of your chosen payment method. Exness adds that some regions disable deposits or even trading until full verification. The current limit for your account is shown in the Verification section under Profile in your PA, along with your verification status.

Exness's help centre also points out that verification gives access to payment methods that require it. In other words, some UAE funding methods may not appear at all until your documents are approved. If your Deposit page looks sparse, verification is the first thing to check.

Picking an Account Type for the Way You Trade

Instead of listing account types in isolation, it helps to start from your own trading pattern. Here is a decision guide based on Exness's published conditions.

If you are...ConsiderWhy
Brand new and want live execution with tiny sizesStandard CentCent lots mean very small exposure; note there is no demo version of this type
A beginner or occasional swing traderStandardNo commission, spreads from 0.2 pips, margin call at 60%, no fixed minimum deposit beyond the payment method's
Experienced, trading manually, preferring all-in spreadsProSpreads from 0.1 pips, no commission, choice of execution type, minimum first deposit from USD 200
Focused on the most liquid marketsZeroZero spread on top instruments (Exness cites its top 30), commission from USD 0.05 per lot per side
A scalper or running an Expert AdvisorRaw SpreadSpreads from 0.0 pips plus a fixed commission of up to USD 3.50 per lot per side; market execution

All professional types share a 30% margin call and a 0% stop-out, except during the daily stock break when the stop-out rises to 100%. Minimum trade size is 0.01 lots on all of them. Because minimum deposits and commissions are set by region, check the live Exness account conditions for the UAE before you commit to a professional type.

Hypothetical cost comparison

Hypothetical illustration only; real spreads vary constantly. Suppose EUR/USD shows an average spread of 1.0 pip on a Standard account and 0.1 pips on a Raw Spread account at the moment you trade one standard lot. On Standard, the cost is about USD 10 in spread. On Raw Spread, the spread costs about USD 1 plus commission of up to USD 3.50 each way, so up to USD 7 for the round trip: about USD 8 in total. The commission account is cheaper in this example, but only because the spread gap was large. On quieter instruments or when spreads narrow, the gap can shrink or reverse. Always compare using the spreads you actually see in a demo account, at the times you actually trade.

Margin Call and Stop-Out Explained with Numbers

Exness publishes a margin call level of 60% on Standard accounts and 30% on Pro, Zero and Raw Spread, with stop-out at 0% outside the daily stock break (when it moves to 100%). Margin level is your equity divided by the margin in use, expressed as a percentage.

Hypothetical illustration only. Khalid has AED 2,000 equity on a Standard account and opens positions that use AED 1,000 of margin. His margin level is 200%. If the market moves against him and his equity falls to AED 600, his margin level is 60% and he reaches the margin call level, a warning that he is close to the edge. If losses continue until his equity approaches zero relative to the margin used, the stop-out level is reached and positions start to be closed automatically, beginning with the largest loss-making position under typical broker practice.

A 0% stop-out sounds generous because it lets positions stay open longer, but it also means an account can be run down almost entirely before anything is closed for you. That is why your own stop-loss orders matter far more than the broker's stop-out. During the stock break, when stop-out moves to 100%, accounts with thin margin can be closed out much sooner than traders expect, so check the break times for the instruments you hold.

  • Track margin level in the terminal's account panel, not just your balance.
  • Reduce position size before major news releases, when spreads can widen.
  • Keep free margin well above zero if you want to be able to withdraw: the most you can withdraw is your free margin.

Funding Your Account in Dirhams

AED is one of the listed account currencies on both Standard and Raw Spread accounts, so UAE residents can keep their trading balance in the same currency as their salary. Because the dirham has long been pegged to the US dollar, choosing AED or USD makes little difference to currency risk; what matters more is avoiding unnecessary conversions between your bank, the payment method and the trading account.

The rules that trip people up

  • Name matching: payment accounts must be registered in your full legal name, matching your Exness account.
  • Currency consistency: the currency you choose when depositing must also be used when withdrawing.
  • Start inside the PA: Exness asks clients to initiate all payments from the PA and to avoid direct payments set up outside it.
  • Regional methods: methods are tied to your registered country.
  • Minimums: each method has its own minimum; professional accounts also have a first-deposit minimum from USD 200.

Withdrawals

Withdrawals are requested from the Withdrawal section of the PA. The maximum you can withdraw is your free margin. The receiving account must be in your exact name. Processing times differ by method and are shown in the PA. If you changed your security type recently, a temporary withdrawal restriction of up to 24 hours can apply. Exness also reserves the right to investigate or charge fees on withdrawals from accounts with no trading activity, so do not deposit money you do not intend to trade with.

Hypothetical example: matching names

Hypothetical illustration only. Fatima registers with her full passport name, "Fatima Ahmed Al Mansoori", but her bank account is in the name "Fatima Al Mansoori". The deposit may be questioned because the names do not match exactly. Asking her bank to update the account name, or using a payment account that shows her full name, avoids the problem before it starts.

Islamic Finance Considerations

Swap-free trading is a frequent request in the UAE. Exness lists swap-free as available on its Pro, Zero and Raw Spread account pages, and many traders also see swap-free conditions on Standard accounts depending on region. Exness has adjusted which instruments qualify and has applied different arrangements for positions held for extended periods on some instruments. Because these terms change, check the swap-free section of your PA and the official site before relying on it.

Swap-free status deals with overnight interest. It does not by itself make every aspect of leveraged CFD trading compliant with every interpretation of Islamic finance. If this matters to you, discuss the product with a scholar or Sharia adviser you trust.

Platforms, Apps and Desktop Setup

Every Exness account can be traded on the browser-based Exness Terminal or WebTerminal, and MT4 or MT5 accounts can also be traded in MetaTrader on desktop or mobile. The Exness Trade app combines account management and trading. You set your default terminal under Profile in the PA.

  • Best for convenience: Exness Trade app or Exness Terminal.
  • Best for automated strategies: MT4 or MT5 on a desktop or a virtual private server.
  • Best for multi-timeframe analysis: MT5 on desktop.

If you are setting up MetaTrader on a Windows laptop for the first time, the installation and safety steps in our guide to downloading a broker platform on PC carry over directly.

Trading hours in UAE time

The UAE uses Gulf Standard Time (GMT+4) without daylight saving. Exness's maximum volume per position is 200 lots from 07:00 to 20:59 GMT and 60 lots overnight; in UAE time the higher limit runs from 11:00 to 00:59. The London session typically opens around midday UAE time and the New York session in the late afternoon or evening, depending on the season.

Securing Your Account from Day One

UAE residents are frequent targets of investment fraud, much of it run through messaging apps and fake social media profiles that borrow well-known broker names. A few minutes on security settings removes most of the risk.

  1. Choose a stronger security type. Email codes are the default. Under Profile, then Security, you can switch to SMS, an authenticator app, or push notifications through the Exness Trade app. Authenticator apps keep working when you travel without a UAE SIM.
  2. Use a unique PA password. The password rules (8 to 15 characters, mixed case and numbers) are a minimum. A password manager makes a long, random password practical.
  3. Keep the PA and trading passwords separate. MetaTrader trading passwords and the PA password are different credentials; do not reuse one for the other.
  4. Use read-only access for sharing. If you want a mentor or a trading journal service to see your account, Exness supports a read-only (investor) password, which lets others view but not trade.
  5. Log out of other devices from the Security section if you have used a shared or office computer.
  6. Never share codes. Exness uses codes to confirm actions such as withdrawals and password changes. Anyone asking for those codes is trying to take over your account.

Exness lists withdrawals, password changes, changes to security type and changes of partner among the actions that require confirmation with your security type, which is exactly why the security type deserves attention before you deposit.

Your First 90 Days: A Sensible Plan

Opening the account is the easy part. What you do in the first three months decides whether trading becomes an expensive hobby or a disciplined learning process. A plan that many experienced traders would recognise looks like this:

PeriodFocusConcrete actions
Weeks 1 to 2Learn the platformDemo only. Place, modify and close orders; set stop-losses; read the margin level indicator.
Weeks 3 to 6Test a simple methodPick one or two instruments and one timeframe. Keep a journal of every trade, including why you took it.
Weeks 7 to 10Small live exposureOpen a Standard or Standard Cent account with an amount you can afford to lose. Use the minimum lot size.
Weeks 11 to 13ReviewCompare live and demo results. Look at costs (spreads, commissions, swaps) as a share of results.

Two rules help more than any indicator: decide the maximum you will lose on any one trade before you enter it, and decide the maximum you will lose in a month before you stop and review. Write both down. When either limit is hit, stop trading for the period. This is not a guarantee against losses, but it keeps losses within the bounds you chose rather than the bounds the market chooses.

Keeping Your Account in Good Standing

  • Update expired documents. If your passport or ID expires, upload a new one before it causes problems with withdrawals.
  • Keep your contact details current. A new UAE mobile number should be updated promptly, because SMS codes and account recovery depend on it.
  • Do not let accounts sit unused with large balances. Exness reserves the right to investigate or charge fees on withdrawals from accounts with no trading activity.
  • Archive statements. Monthly statements help with tax filings in your home country and with any dispute.
  • Tell support before you relocate. Your registered country cannot be changed, so leaving the UAE permanently needs a conversation with support.

Red Flags and Common Mistakes

Most failed UAE applications come down to a handful of avoidable errors. Treat these as red flags in your own process:

  • Registering under your nationality instead of your residence. You will be asked for a POA from that country. The country cannot be changed later.
  • A P.O. Box-only bank statement. It does not show a residential address. Use a bill or ask for a statement with your full address.
  • Company-paid utilities. If your housing bills are in your employer's name, they will not match your POI.
  • Expired or nearly expired documents. POI must be valid for at least three months after upload.
  • Old bills. More than six months old means rejection.
  • Funding from a relative's card. Third-party payments are not allowed.
  • Messages from "Exness agents" on WhatsApp, Telegram or Instagram. Do not send money or codes to anyone outside the PA.
  • Using the account number to log in to the PA. The PA username is your email address.
  • Setting maximum leverage by default. Choose a level that fits your plan.

Troubleshooting Questions UAE Users Ask

My document was rejected for "Your region is not supported". Why?

The document you uploaded was not issued in the region your account is registered to. For POA, upload a UAE-issued document.

The PA says I must upload all required documents. I already did.

Additional documents may be required. Recheck the requirements shown in the PA; sometimes both sides of an ID or all pages of a statement are needed.

My upload button does nothing.

Complete the economic profile first, check the file is under 50 MB and in JPG, PNG, BMP or PDF format, and make sure no earlier submission is still pending review.

I am locked out after changing phones.

If your security type was SMS, an authenticator app or push notifications and you have a verified email, phone and POI, Exness offers a face-scan route to reset your security type to email from the PA. Otherwise, open a support ticket for video chat verification. Either way, withdrawals are disabled for 24 hours after the switch.

My deposit is not showing.

Check the processing time for that method in the PA. If it has passed, contact support with the transaction reference.

How Exness Compares with Other Routes for UAE Residents

There is no universally "best" choice. If strong local protection is your priority, a DFSA or FSRA firm may suit you. If flexible conditions and AED accounts are your priority, Exness is one of the options worth comparing, provided you are comfortable with which entity serves you. If you scalp, ask every broker about holding-time and execution rules; our article on how scalping policies differ between brokers lists the right questions.

Hypothetical Case Study: An Abu Dhabi Teacher Opens Her First Account

Hypothetical illustration only; the person and figures are invented.

Leila, a Jordanian teacher living in Khalifa City, decides to learn trading with a small amount. She registers on her laptop, selects the United Arab Emirates and enters a new email address. She completes her profile, then realises her bank statement shows only a P.O. Box. Instead of uploading it, she downloads her latest telecom bill as a PDF, which shows her name and villa address and is two weeks old.

She uploads her Jordanian passport as POI and the telecom bill as POA. While she waits, she opens a Standard demo account on MT5. The next day both documents are approved. She opens a real Standard Cent account to test live execution with cent lots, deposits a small amount in AED from her own bank account, and sets a personal rule never to risk more than 1% of her balance on a single trade. Three months later she adds a Standard account, keeping the Cent account for experiments.

Her case shows that most hurdles in the UAE are documentary rather than technical, and that starting small is a choice, not a limitation.

Conclusion: Your Exness Account in UAE, Done Properly

Opening an Exness account in UAE takes little time once your paperwork lines up. Register as a UAE resident, use a POI from any accepted country, provide a recent UAE-issued POA in your exact name, and complete the economic profile before uploading. Then choose an account type that matches your trading style rather than the one with the lowest headline spread, fund it in AED or USD from your own account, and keep withdrawals in the same currency.

Above all, take a few minutes to identify which Exness company holds your account and check it on the relevant register. The 2026 transition to the CMA has not changed that basic discipline, and it is the single step that most protects you if anything ever goes wrong.

🔥 Your next move: gather your passport and a fresh UAE bill, then set up your Exness Personal Area and test it on a demo first before committing real money.

📌 Important: CFD Risk Warning and Disclosure

CFDs and leveraged forex are complex instruments. Because you trade on margin, a small price move against you can wipe out a large part of your balance quickly, and many retail traders lose money when trading CFDs. Before you open or fund any account, make sure you understand how leverage, margin, swaps and stop-outs work, and only trade with money you can afford to lose. Hypothetical examples in this article are illustrations, not forecasts, and past performance is not a reliable guide to future results.
